Moni Oyedepo

Moni Oyedepo

is a writer, actress, comedian and first generation Nigerian-American from Alabama with a passion for telling compelling Black stories. She is the creator of Platonic, a 7 episode web series about two best friends with obvious sexual tension. She partnered with 20+ black owned businesses, creatives and artists in order to elevate the community while telling this story. Moni is an improv and sketch writer and performer at the Upright Citizens Brigade theatre. Her comedy has been featured on Freeform, WhoHaHa, CollegeHumor, Funny or Die and VoyageLA.

She is a 2022 fellow of the Sony backed, UK based Creative Corridor and 2021 Women Write Now fellow through Hartbeat and the Sundance Institute. She has a BA in Political Science and Business Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
